English belowIn diesem Workshop stellt Husam Abed seinen Ansatz zur Adaption von biografischem Material für die Bühne vor. Er lädt die Teilnehmenden dazu ein, Inspiration in ihren persönlichen Geschichten zu finden, und gibt ihnen die Werkzeuge an die Hand, diese durch Objekttheater und Physical Theatre auszudrücken. Neben der Auseinandersetzung mit dokumentarischen Methoden liegt der Schwerpunkt auf der Suche nach Intimität und dem Austausch von Erinnerungen.
Durch die Arbeit mit Materialien, Objekten, Körper und Raum werden persönliche Themen erkundet. Die Teilnehmenden lernen, wie sie mit Objekten als Metaphern in Bezug auf Körper und Raum arbeiten können. Sie tauchen in die Poetik des visuellen Erzählens ein und erkunden die Gestaltung von Szenen, wobei sie Objekte, Körper und Raum als Ausgangspunkt nutzen. Es können eigene künstlerische Projekte, Solos oder auch Ensemblearbeiten, die sich noch in Entwicklung befinden, mitgebracht werden. Im Laufe des Workshops werden mehrere kurze Präsentationen gezeigt.
Husam Abed ist im Westflügel mit dem Stück „War Maker“ des Dafa Theater zu sehen.

Husam Abed is a Prague-based multi awarded theater director, puppeteer, producer and musician, specializing in alternative, puppet theater and devised multidisciplinary theater. He is currently undertaking a Ph.D. at Bath Spa University in the UK, researching refugee visibility through puppetry and object theater. He holds a Master of directing for alternative and puppet theater from the Academy of Performing Arts (DAMU), Czech Republic.
Husam is a co-founder of Dafa Theater. He leads theater projects for children, youth, and adults worldwide, and focuses his work with refugee communities. He has directed performances in Czech, Jordan, Bahrain, Austria and Hong Kong. His shows are invited on a regular basis to international festivals. He is a co-founder of LIV’in Festival in Prague and Ya khayyal Theatre Lab. for refugees and local youth, a curator for IDEA festival (International Dance Encounter Amman) and an active member of Karama Film Festival for human rights in Jordan.
Two–day workshop: Sunday and Monday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day
In this workshop, Husam Abed will share his approach to adapting biographical material into performance. He invites participants to fi nd inspiration in their personal stories and gives them the tools to express them through physical and object theater. Participants will be encouraged to delve into documentary methods, focusing on fi nding intimacy and sharing memories. Through working with materials, objects, body and space they will explore fi nding themes that concern them.
Participants will get know-how to work with objects as metaphors in relation to body and space. Participants will immerse themselves into the poetics of visual storytelling and explore creating scenes using objects, bodies and space as a starting point. Husam will guide participants to develop their own artistic projects: solo work and ensemble. Several short presentations will be shared.
